Project Overview
The storytelling objective was to make a major infrastructure milestone feel personal. Rather than explain the extension through conventional promotional messaging, the film used real residents and recognizable community moments to show how the project could deepen connection across the city.
The two-month production featured more than 40 community participants and culminated in a public premiere attended by more than 5,000 people.
About The Project
My Role
As Creative Producer, I helped shape the project from concept through delivery, translating the campaign vision into a human-centered narrative and an executable production plan.
I independently cast more than 40 residents across age, race, neighborhood, and lived experience, building an ensemble that reflected the breadth of Kansas City and gave the film an authentic sense of place. Additionally, I prepared participants for filming, helping them understand the creative direction and feel comfortable contributing natural, credible moments on camera.
The Process
Across four production days, I coordinated an eight-person crew and contributed to creative briefs, client presentations, scene planning, shot direction, scheduling, and on-set logistics. I worked across the creative and operational sides of production to ensure that each scene supported the larger story while remaining achievable within the project timeline.
Following production, I helped carry the campaign through final delivery, contributing to the film, photography, premiere, social assets that extended its reach pos-launch.
